Why I love UD/Why I Recruit for UD: I love UD for many reasons, not the least of which is the unique educational experience that it offers. The Core curriculum provides students with a challenging, interesting, comprehensive and thought-provoking education. The Rome Program is truly life-changing and is an invaluable opportunity for our students. UD students value learning for the sake of learning, but they also love to have a good time and really make the most of their four years here. It is easy to make friends at UD, and UD students possess the character that makes them the kind of person that you want to be friends with for the rest of your life.

Favorite Spot on Campus: The softball field

Where Do You Hang Out in Dallas? You can usually find me on the Katy Trail walking with my dog, Chester, or perusing the shops in the Bishop Arts District with my husband, Tim.

Favorite Book: This is an unfair question to ask of a liberally-educated individual!  However, I did particularly enjoy Pride and Prejudice, Life of Pi and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Favorite Place to Eat in DFW: There are too many to choose from! I love Cosmic Café for vegetarian food, Breadwinners for brunch and Torchy’s Tacos for unique taco creations.

Favorite UD Event: Charity Week

Favorite/Coolest Place I have Visited: Prague was definitely a highlight of my time in Europe during my Rome semester. I have also been to Mexico City and seen the tilma of San Juan Diego with the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which was very important for me since I have heard the story of this apparition since I was a little girl.

Advice to Prospective Students: I cannot overemphasize the importance of a campus visit! This is the best way to get a firsthand perspective of the places where you could potentially be spending the next four years of your life. Ask lots of questions, not just of admission office staff, but also of professors and students that you meet on campus.
