Why I love UD/Why I Recruit for UD: The University of Dallas is truly a unique educational ecosystem inviting students’ cooperation in a transformational collegiate experience. Elements such as the Core, and semesters abroad in Rome are brought together within the Catholic intellectual tradition to form powerful hearts and minds. The search for the true and the beautiful is alive on this campus, come see for yourself!

Favorite Spot on Campus: The Capp Bar

Where Do You Hang Out in Dallas? On any given Saturday you will find me with my latest science-fiction read and a cup of coffee at Buon Giorno’s in Grapevine.

Favorite Book: The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien or Island of the World by Michael D O’Brien

Favorite Place to Eat in DFW: Hard Eight BBQ

Favorite UD Event: Groundhog

Favorite/Coolest Place I have Visited: In the summer of 2014 I had the opportunity to travel to Greece with a program run through my university.  The bustle of cosmopolitan Athens paired with the natural beauty of the Grecian countryside is in my opinion one of the world’s treasures. I consider my experiences in the Mediterranean to be some of the most formative weeks and months of my life. There is nothing quite like interacting with primary texts in the places they were conceived and written.

Advice to Prospective Students: Not all who wander are lost. Entering university does not require that you commit yourself to one field of study, however it does require you to commit yourself to the learning process. Conveniently, the Core facilitates introductions to some of the best thinkers spanning history. Immerse yourself in the rich curriculum at UD and do a bit of intellectual wandering.
