Convent Project Rendering

Support the Nashville Dominicans

The University of Dallas will be the first college campus to house a convent of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, also known as the Nashville Dominicans.

Since the fall of 2016, the University of Dallas has been blessed by the presence on its campus and in its classrooms of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, also known as the Nashville Dominicans. Founded in 1860, the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia are a vibrant and growing order of religious sisters faithful to the church and dedicated to the apostolate of Catholic education.

Since moving to the Dallas area, they have lived in community at a home near the university’s campus in Irving. Now, the University of Dallas is raising funds to build a home for them on campus, becoming the first institution of higher learning in the country to establish such a convent for the order. The fundraising goal for the project, which must still proceed through architectural design, site preparation and construction, is $7.2 million.
