Rome Visitor Information

Find your way to the foothills of Rome.

The Rome campus is located near the cities of Marino and Frattocchie, some 22 km (13.5 miles) southeast of Rome on the Via Appia Nuova. It is 2.5 km (1.5 miles) from the small town of Castel Gandolfo and the nearby recreational area of Lake Albano (Lago di Albano).

Directions to the Campus

By Taxi

A taxi ride from the center of Rome to Due Santi costs at least euro 50, (approx. $70). A taxi ride from the airport at Fiumicino is at least euro 60 (approx. $80). Most taxis are equipped with on-board navigators and thus should be able to find the campus easily.

You can also arrange for a private car service to transport you to the Due Santi Campus from an airport, train station, the center of Rome, or another Italian city. While the University does not make such reservations for visitors, we do suggest that you contact Autonoleggio Sacconi, which offers favorable rates to University of Dallas students and their visitors. The drivers speak English and will be happy to assist you with your transportation needs. Click here for contact information and a price list.

By Car

From the G.R.A. (Grande Raccordo Anulare) - the beltway or ring road encircling Rome - take exit 23 to the Via Appia Nuova going southward in the direction of Ciampino and away from the city center. Follow signs toward Albano. After 7 km (4 miles) watch for the TOP Supermercati on the right, followed by a REPSOL gas station on the right. After passing these, turn right at the next stoplight onto Via dei Ceraseti (a blue sign indicates Fontana Sala). The entrance of the University is 150 meters down the road on the right.

By Subway & Bus

Take the Red (#1) Metro Line A to its southern most terminal at Anagnina (ticket cost 1,50). Go up the stairs, turn left while still in the station (not street level) and walk through the courtyard toward the suburban bus ticket office. Purchase a bus ticket to Frattocchie-Albano (ticket cost 1,30) at the window on the far end of the open courtyard. Go up the stairwell to platform #2 in the direction of Albano or Velletri. The bus ride is about 7 miles long and should take approximately 20 minutes. The bus stop for Due Santi is to be found a short distance from a supermarket called TOP and a gas station called REPSOL. (Ask your fellow passengers or shout, if need be, to make sure the bus stops at DUE SANTI.) After exiting the bus walk back to the intersection, and turn left onto Via Ceraseti. The entrance to the campus is on the right, 150 meters down Via Ceraseti (a blue sign indicates Fontana Sala). The entrance of the University is 150 meters down the road on the right.
